WW Return to LSU receiving national negativity
Posted by Dthomp on 3/27/26 at 8:57 am
The national negative attention with WW coming back is ridiculous..... This man wanted to come back; he did not want to leave in the first place.... The NC State season ended, and a coach (person) chose to return to the job he wanted. It happens everyday at every organization. But, because we are LSU and truly have a hot current national brand, we are targeted. Yes, WW has an aggressive personality that gets abrasive at times. I would rather that personality than what we have had the last 4 years. Players take on the swag and personality of the coach. LSU basketball will win a National Championship soon in men's hoops. The LSU fanbase will support the program when it is winning and competing at the highest level; it's been proven time and time again. When this program is hitting on all cylinders and following great football seasons, the BR community is thriving.
Now, what truly makes and defines WW's coaching is the intangibles that are never seen. Of course, recruiting and obtaining talent is crucial, but also coaching and developing the athlete is the key. Remember, the man has never played the game before..... He says that gives him an edge other former player coaches don't have.... WW is different!! DIFFERENT in Baton Rouge is normal.... Boot up bitches

That, or the cranky, always-right tool-room attendant at a construction job.....
NO, he will continue to be a great DC. I do question his in-game adjustments and game planning/preparing for a running QB.
re: Amazing how quickly the narrative shifted on here regarding Will Wade

WOW, I had no idea that WW was being courted by Landry and cast. I'm not sure how it would have worked bringing him back, or if it is still an option, but I'm confident LSU would be a top 5 SEC BB team every year and possibly dance in the final 4 or 8 every few years.
Great detail with the run schemes. Absolutely, being under center has our backs running downhill when they receive the ball, and is huge when they hit the hole or come off a block, play action pass out of being under center, etc.
I remember that play. Laine uses formations and run plays early to come back later and throw out of it. Was #8 lined up in the back field on the last play when the QB threw him the first down? I know he released untouched

Fascinating perspective. I'm not sure how the 2025 zone blocking differs from typical power runs or counters 10 years ago. If someone could explain, I would appreciate the information. Yes, I'm serious also.

no doubt, i was never confident again we were going to win after they made it 17-7.
Any word on Jalen Reed's injury?

I did not see the injury, but I watched the whole second half. The injury must have been early.
I hear the size of the video board at Auburn.... It will fill in the open end zone. Look at Auburn's online.

Was Sean Payton at LSU Pro Day? If not why???

We all know his dislike for LSU for some reason, especially now with the DC position he held from us..... Curious if he was there and what NFL coaches were present?

re: Wade’s games haven’t been as memorable as Dale’s games yet, but he’s getting there

Chris never scored 65, I think he scored 53 that night....
Anyway, very impressive for a freshman on the road in first SEC game.
YES, GOOD MEMORIES

I agree, Auburn on September 19th, 2015. People were falling out left and right, we drank so much water that day we only used the bathroom once during the game. We sweat everything else out..... Brandon Harris at QB, Fournette ran wild, and Muschamp was AU DC.

He should stay!! More experience and maybe a chance at more touches in the offense with a NEW OC.
The play calling and red zone calls were outstanding. Also, that was the first year LSU came out 100% spread.
