Exxonmobil in Baton Rouge told Beavers to shove it three years ago, that's why they are out of the national bargaining. Beavers was going to put us out on strike over trying to get a union represented safety position. The company had offered a spot for years and the union played games and never sent anyone to the safety meetings. Then they wanted a do nothing job created after they had been telling the company to F off for almost three years. We had a meeting with beavers and he realized we were going to decertify if he put us on the street over that garbage. The company was giving everything else we asked for and not taking anything away. USW was basically trying to use the site as a pawn in their push to gain power.
I am so happy to no longer be a represented employee and have to worry with this every three years.
