Saban Retirement?

Posted by Tig321 on 1/3/22 at 7:58 pm
Heard Saban is going to retire after this game from an Alabama student in the athletic program. Anybody else hear anything? Probably just same old rumors, but given his age, why wouldn't he go out on top if he wins the game? GOAT.
Well I think the initial poster is right. I didn't attend the game just because I thought LSU would run away with it. GEUAX TiGERS!

Abbeville Alma Mater help

Posted by Tig321 on 3/11/20 at 12:13 pm
I've got a friend, an older retired disabled Vietnam War vet who lives up in Michigan. His Dad graduated from Abbeville and this is what he asked on FB: "A family friend, Exxxx Duhon, from Lafayette, LA, sent me this picture from an old Abbeville HS Year Book. It is the Alma Mater song for Abbeville High written back in the 50's by a family friend, Henry Cary, and my dad, Bob Choiniere. They didn't get either name right in the yearbook. I would love to find someone who has the music so I can hear it played and sung. " ALMA MATER - Among the oaks and cypress, Where Vermillion Bayou flows, There stands our Alma Mater, dear, Where lasting friendship grows, Although we leave you, Through the years, Our hearts are always thine, Abbeville, Abbeville, Alma Mater mine." If anyone can assist I'd appreciate it.

I care. He did the mature thing and "manned up"
No I'm not running out of platitudes, I could go on and on. It's just that your initial post was illogical. It showed that either you didn't know the facts/stats of Hebert, or you just don't like him. Even if you don't like him you shouldn't run him down by giving the impression that he was not a good NFL even All Pro QB. Just ain't right. Just say you disagree or you don't like him, but shouldn't dog the man.
No your right, we would not want to compare Burrow to an All Pro QB. No he didn't win the Super Bowl, but neither did Jim Kelly, another loser using your dumbass definition.
Ohhh...so grown up. You talk to you Momma with that mouth. Now you are an immature vulgar idiot.

I didn't say Hebert was in the class of the greatest QBs that ever played, but the facts yes, look at his stats and facts, he was a very good NFL QB.

We won with a lot less, Matt Flynn, Mauck, Russell, Mettenberger, Davey, Etling, etc. None of them reached the heights of Hebert.
Danfraz, I never get personal on this website, but your an idiot. I went to college with Bobby. His first couple of years he did some things, but he grew up. The next two years I sat by him everyday in class. He was one of the nicest most humble guys I have ever known. He had a cannon of an arm. Hebert led the Panthers to the USFL championship in the league's inaugural season. Later he helped bring the Saints their first winning season and playoff appearance in franchise history. Hebert was inducted to the New Orleans Saints Hall of Fame in 1999 and the Louisiana Sports Hall of Fame in 2000. He was All Pro in 1993. If Burrow can do half of that, and I think he might, we will be great next year.

I talked to Tillery's Mom. Great family BTW. Notre Dame was his dream school. That is the only place he wanted to go. If Notre Dame would not have offered he probably would have gone to LSU; however, they did. LSU really never had a chance.
I've been reading TD for years. This is the first time I've made a comment. The following is just my opinion, so take it for what it's worth. I have prosecuted and defended cases in state and federal court for about 25 years. I am not passing judgement on Will Wade or the LSU hierarchy. I have a feeling we don't know 1/2 of what is going on and may never will. Having said that, remember GG and and RD 1) have journalism degrees - they are not lawyers; and, 2) are not personally involved in a federal investigation/prosecution either as a witness or defendant at this time. A person in Wilson's position (guilty or innocent) would be crazy to make any type of statement to anyone, except their attorney, until he has been released from subpoena and/or not under investigation. Mr. Skinner and Mr. Williams are both very, very accomplished attorneys and they both know this. Generally speaking, I don't think they would ever let their clients make a statement that could possibly be used against him (even though talking to LSU admin is not a criminal proceeding, it can still be used against him). Can he be disciplined for not speaking to LSU admin even though it may be against his interests to do so? Depends on his contract, but probably. At this point in time Mr. Skinner and Mr. Williams client is LSU Admin and they are taking a PR beating for being the only University to suspend its coach in this wide ranging investigation/prosecution, so hence the PR war.
