Atari and Universal Studios have signed a deal for 10 movies: Pong, Asteroids, etc

Honestly not sure if this belongs here or gaming board. 
ETA: Also not sure how a Pong movie would would even be possible unless it has some interesting backstory they could adapt like that Tetris movie a few years ago.

I’d be very surprised if there are 10 movies out there about games which are on the level of the back story we got with Tetris. I would settle for just a few good movies if they could be made, but I really hope we don’t get all 10. I just don’t have faith that any studio could come up with that many good movies.

Universal seems like the weird homeschool kid who only gets hand me downs and isn’t allowed sugar or PG-13 movies.
While the rest of the studios are making big franchises like Marvel, DC, Star Wars, Jurassic Park…
They do old school monsters and Atari.

Yeah some of these seem like they could be easily made into a movie like Yars Revenge, Asteroids, Adventure, and Missile Command.
I feel like they have to have some sort of idea in mind to have included games like Pong and Centipede in this list.
