Had A/V company install a bunch of stuff during my build. I finally got around to do some testing today and noticed there is a audio delay from the tv (samsung frame) to the ceiling speakers. All of the wires run about 25ft to the media closet and up to the speakers. They used one of the cat6 wires as an audio balun to the receiver. Before I call them up, is there a quick fix or should I expect the worse? I would like to have football games with audio from the speakers.

Building a house in Jefferson Parish (Kenner). I got a 2nd water meter for irrigation and future pool. Does JP/Kenner require a backflow on the irrigation meter if it's not tapped into the main line? I'm trying to figure out why I would need a backflow installed on the main line if the irrigation system is going to be installed on the 2nd meter? Help.
Congrats on the 2nd baby. Our two girls are 19 months apart and the youngest is 6 months. So I know what you're about to go through...
As far as adjustments. Cost of daycare, diapers & wipes, etc...luckily I had another girl so we didn't have to buy a lot more in clothes.

Make sure you're looking over the fine details. One of the things that I have went through so far is the small details. Like make the entryway casing match the top of my window casing. It wasn't until the house was framed and sheet rocked until we noticed we wanted it to be even. I had to pay for the framers to make a trip...Another example, on the plans, gas lanterns on the front door and electrical ones over the garage. I'm glad my contractor did the bid for all gas lanterns otherwise, it would have been an additional cost.

Boot, new home construction with bermuda. I have an irrigation system as well. What do I need to do to make sure my grass doesn't die in the first month (except watering) :lol:

Northshore Parade of homes is coming up in May and NOLA is first two weeks of June. Plenty of homes for ideas. Do you have plans and a builder?

We're going a long power strip underneath the kitchen cabinets instead of having outlets in the back-splash. Run additional cat5/6 wires from the de-mark location just in case. Whole house lighting, smart switches, motion sensors (garage, laundry, pantry). Get a 2nd water meter for irrigation.

If you have a budget, I would find a developer/builder that will work within your budget. If you're buying a lot and finding a custom builder, then you'll be looking at $150/sq foot. One thing I will share with my build is make sure your architect or draftsmen is precise with your design. Nothing worse than wanting to add recessed lighting and seeing the up charge.
What's the purpose of the land? The land cost? 15% of 100K is a lot different than 15% of 500K.

I can see this for my pantry since the door is going to be closed all the time but what about doors that I will keep open (most of the time). What motion sensor to you recommend? Lutron has one but the timer on those are 1 minute after you leave the room? I feel that is a longer than I would like but I would like to hear others.

Cool. I want to install the caseta in high traffic areas (living/kitchen, foyer, etc.), however I'm being told that I should go with RA2 Select and the caseta isn't a great option. I don't know if it's worth double the price to move towards the RA2 Select. Thoughts?

Looking for the pros & cons with these two. I do know the caseta has a limit of 50 devices vs 100 for RA. My question is what is considered a device? Is 3 light fixtures on one light switch considered 3 devices? I'm figuring around 30 recessed lights hooked up to about 6 3-way switches.
