Why is Mason such a whiny little douche? I swear that guy always starting shite on Twitter. Oh someone didn't post a link to that shitty blog post.... Wow... How offensive... Man STFU. Lol.

C'mon man Mason on Twitter today saying Pelicans shouldn't try to trade for PG and that trading Tim Frazier was a mistake. If that was someone not associated with BSS, you'd be calling them a fricking idiot. Real talk.

Weird how you're the only guy trying to make this about me? You are clearly on twitter - if you have such a big a problem with me, tell me. Unless complaining about me over here is more your thing.

Fletch presented my case in a very strange way. Sharing the article he was referring to would have been the right thing to do, so I asked him to do so. (I also never said that the Pels should not try to go get George - that would be nuts.)

Re: Frazier - I never said trading him was a mistake. All depends on moves to come. I just feel like he was worth more than the 52nd pick in the draft.
I check into this forum about once or twice a month, and while I may disagree with some (definitely not all) of the basketball takes here, most usually come from a solid amount of Pels passion/knowledge. Nothing wrong with that; given the current trajectory of the team, any sort of passion should be encouraged.

Conversely, the ignorant people will be ignorant, and therefore should be ignored.

He signed off on it before we did it. His line to me was: "I honestly don't care. But be prepared for a lot of... Yeah, I knew he couldn't stay away. Too much ego!" So this thread title is actually pretty hilarious in comparison.

The amount of back patting those guys did over their stunt is so cringe-worthy.

Just trying to have a little fun during an otherwise brutal season to root for/write about the Pels.

Just my personal opinion, but every year is different, so I think it's better to be forward-thinking than backward-looking. The Pelicans are 1-11 right now, so to finish above .500, that means they have to go 41-29 the rest of the way, which is about a 48-win pace over an 82 game season.

The next question is how many wins we think it'll take to make the playoffs. I think 42 may be a bit low, but I can't see it being higher than the 45 the Pels got last year. I'd say the Pels have to play at about a 51-win pace the rest of the way to get a playoff spot. Difficult, but not impossible. I had the Pels with a low-50s win total if fully healthy all season. The problem (obviously) is that they're still not fully healthy, so the longer they keep taking this nosedive, the tougher it'll be to climb out (mind-blowing take, I know).

BC many have asked. I will focus on my other passion, Social Justice. Excited about many of the movements happening in US currently.

I think most of you do, but I hope all of you understand that he never actually wrote this. Some of the subsequent responses suggest otherwise.

Gentry might want someone other than Ryno.

Maybe, but he helped a lesser player in Channing Frye get a pretty nice contract with Orlando. Maybe he helps Anderson in a similar way & the Pels move him at the deadline? Or maybe they keep him. Too soon to know.

Also, @tgr4ever - thanks for writing up those notes on the podcast. Good stuff.
FWIW: Q-Pon wasn't part of the 3-team deal that sent Rivers to the Clippers. The trade was Rivers to LAC, Reggie Bullock to PHX, & Shavlik Randolph + Chris Douglas-Roberts + 2017 second rounder to BOS.

Apologies, didn't mean to be misleading. Thibs & Monty are tied for 4th longest active coaching gig. Just pointing out the short list of coaches more tenured of him.

Not the best video quality, but happy to help:

Throwing my quick two cents into this discussion - I still don't understand why Monty won't even try the Jrue-Tyreke/Gordon-Anderson-AD-Asik lineup out there for spurts. The zone D with that lineup seemed okay in the preseason for periods at a time, and doing so would limit the need for those bad bench wings. Using that lineup may result in Ajinca getting a few more minutes (who I think is fine as a fourth big seeing limited action), but Anderson and Asik are both only averaging 27 minutes per game so far, so maybe you don't even need to add more than a couple minutes from Alexis.

Well-timed post. Looks like other people are talking about this, too (as they should be):

Agree with that take entirely (and I even think I mentioned somewhere in the column that his height/wingspan gives him the ability to play further off of his man than what would be considered normal for other more typical wing defenders).
The fouling perspective is one I hadn't really considered, mainly because I figured he'd be less likely to pick up fouls on the wings vs. playing defense inside. Fatigue was my bigger concern for him out there.
Thanks for sharing, and I hope y'all enjoy it. Looking forward to hearing people's thoughts about not just the column itself, but the feasibility in general of those five guys playing together.
If I'm the Pels, I push for LRMAM as the cap filler w/ Martin. Mbah a Moute is one of the better wing defenders in the league. Not a guy you can give heavy minutes to because he doesn't give you much of anything on offense, but defensively, he is everything we hoped Aminu would turn into. Of course, doing so may push the deal too heavily in New Orleans' favor.

you hearing any whispers about possible EG deals or is it just a pipe dream?

Haven't heard anything, and while I would certainly bet on a Rivers deal if I had to guess who gets moved between he and Gordon, I don't think trading Gordon is completely unrealistic.

Ryno for I don't know who, would have to be a 3, but I believe he's gone.

Have heard that he is not being shopped (that applies to both right now now as well as back on draft night), and that the Pelicans would have to be absolutely blown away by an offer in order to deal him. Not saying it can't happen, but I firmly believe either Rivers or Gordon is getting sent out to make room for Asik.
After the Asik deal is completed, I may be able to answer this. I asked a similar question earlier today to someone familiar with the process, but I can't get any details until everything is finalized with the trade.
It is a travesty that so many of these lists so far don't include Pargo.

I'll be the first to admit that I reacted similarly to this column after my first read-through, but I have backed off since then to merely disliking it. Dan Feldman knows his stuff, but he may not have put forth the tone that he meant to display.

He is right about the likelihood that the Pelicans will find it difficult to trade into the first round with the players currently on the roster. I disagree with him about the trade for Holiday, but there is certainly an argument to be made for Philly's side. Where I think he erred is his assessment of Jrue overall. Feldman's evaluation of Holiday makes it seem like he didn't watch him much, and ignores a lot of what makes Holiday so valuable (people seem to always forget how young he is... the dude only turned 24 a week ago). Just my two cents on the piece.
