Have You Seen Rio's Diving Pool Yet? Because The Water Is Green
Christopher Hanewinckel-USA TODAY Sports

quote:

Rio spokesman Mario Andrada said the green was caused "by a proliferation of algae."

"This was because of heat and a lack of wind," he said. "We did all the chemical tests.”

If I remember correctly the 1980 Moscow games had the diving competition at a lake. We didn't participate so news was sketchy but pretty sure it was a friggin lake.
