I don't watch a lot of soccer, but this has to be one of the most unique and craziest goals ever scored, no?

nope - I've given it an honest effort for 20 years. Ridiculous rules, no scoring, field too big, too many players, too much flopping, etc. And I truly have tried to like it.

"If you watch the full video, he is called for offsides."......Which would be fitting, because that silly rule squashes most offense in soccer and helps to make the game unwatchable. Average score in soccer needs to be 5-4, not 1-0. With such low scoring, the difference between winning and losing is too often the result of a fortunate bounce.

So true. They need to completely do away with that dumb rule. Make fast breaks a thing in soccer

this isn't basketball. the idea of offsides in soccer is exactly the same as in football. you wouldn't have a defensive lineman perched in the backfield because they'd stop the play for a loss every time. you wouldn't have a receiver in the endzone because they'd be wide open every time. it'd make for some boring fricking games if all the team had to do was kick the ball 40 yards and then tap it in.

"this isn't basketball. the idea of offsides in soccer is exactly the same as in football. you wouldn't have a defensive lineman perched in the backfield.".........bad example. The better example is saying a QB can't throw to a receiver unless the receiver ISN'T behind the DB. Then it's just a race to the ball. Just a very silly rule.
