“I’m looking at it as an academic first kind of thing,” Burnett said. “I’m not going to play at the next level and I’m looking to get a great education, make those great connections in an athletic department, with football coaches and experience (football) for one more season.”

Academics? Maybe he should have went to Vanderbilt if that's what his priorities were.

It’s obvious you could not qualify on academics. Perhaps you should have GONE to class more

Coaching connections is the key. Look for him to be a position coach in a couple of years. Smart kid for making the best choice.

Smart move to know you're not going pro. Look to "learn the process" and then join the coaching staff. I like this guy's thinking already!

Probably more of a grad assistant hopeful. Show the coaches he knows football and start out under Saban after he graduates.

The last time this happened The Pirate convinced the QB to start for him at Wash St and now he’s the starting QB for the Jags.
