"My family and I will be forever indebted for the opportunity to be part of ESPN and College GameDay for nearly 40 years," Corso said in a statement released by ESPN. "I have a treasure of many friends, fond memories and some unusual experiences to take with me into retirement."

That man is a legend and did more to advance college football than you can fathom.

I spent most of my life watching him on Saturdays. An absolute icon and legend in the sport.

Now if we could just get Fowler back and relegate Rece to the late night stuff, it would almost fill the void.

The last 5 years or so have been very hard to watch him, sadly. He was never the same after the stroke. I'm sure he just didn't want to give up what has become such a big part of who he is, and honestly, doing the show has probably kept him going longer. Hope he still has some time left to enjoy life.

The show will absolutely not be the same without him and his picks to end each show.
