So much has to do with where you are going, it makes it hard to stick to a single carrier. I have flown them all many times and have this opinion:
1) American - I loath them, I hate them! I will only use them if there is no other decent option
2) Delta - they are very good for a large carrier. I prefer them if possible
3) United - They usually give me no issues, I'm ok with them, but I sure wish they would not have bought out Continental, as that was my favorite airline
4) Southwest - good, reliable and I have no problem with them
5) Alaska - one of the very best. They bought out Virgin, who was absolutely the best
6) Jet Blue - very good, limited destinations
7) Frontier - basic, nothing to talk about here
8) Spirit - same as Frontier, avoid if possible
9) Hawaiian - very good, but limited routs
10 Allegiant - basic, see Frontier and Spirit
Also, your experience has a lot to do with the airport you fly out of and arrive at, meaning delays, baggage issues, crowds and other things that cause problems that the airline gets blamed for.

Delta then United. Delta is really good about getting you on another flight automatically if you miss a connection and always has nice planes.
I cannot stand Southwest because of their boarding process and have had bad experiences when they have canceled on me. American is just an abortion of on airline

Team Delta-they haven't let me down, figuratively and literally.
Shout out to United for refunding my tickets after my m-i-l's (no pics) passing in 2019 with no questions asked.
I'd flown them probably 20 segments in the past 4 years before that, so maybe that factored in, but still it was nice to not have to fight them for it.
American used to be my go-to a decade or more ago, they are my last resort now after lots of pain & suffering due to them.
Southwest is not my favorite, I'll hold my nose and use them but meh due to some of their clientele.
Best international service was Singapore A380 JFK-FRA-JFK.
I've got BA MSY-LHR coming up for the Saints London game.

Delta guy, here. United is fine, but I hate the E145s they fly out of BTR. JetBlue & Alaska are also good. American is trash.

Former Delta Diamond, switched to American (due to travel locations) and have been an EXP since.
I don't really have a preference between the major three.

Alaskan was a great airline but somebody bought them and I'm not sure the name even exists. Other than them, all airlines are the same.
