Four of us are making the trip to LA for the game. We will fly in on Thursday and fly out on Monday. Looking for suggestions on where to stay. Probably going to make a side trip to visit the redwoods and a few others sites. Appreciate any help.

Pasadena where Rose Bowl is and the redwoods are north of LA so probably look on the northern end of the city somewhere
Maybe Glendale and Burbank - have no idea what these areas are like but might be some cheaper options than in the heart of LA

I'd try to find a nice place in Santa Monica or Marina del Rey area. I would stay west of the 405 or along the 101.

Are you flying in to LAX or Bob Hope?

If you're talking about Redwoods National Park, I would guess it's a good 12 hour drive from LA.

Unless there are some other redwoods im not familiar with, the redwoods are also north of San Francisco.

There’s lots of things to do in Pasadena, so that would be a good place to stay. Burbank and Glendale should be cheaper, but have more generic mall and restaurant offerings. For a visitor, there isn’t much purpose to hang out in Burbank or Glendale; whereas you’d be perfectly fine spending a majority of your trip in Pasadena.

Fine areas but why would you stay out by the IE when going to a UCLA baseball game?

The Georgian by Santa Monica Pier is a great centrally located hotel with nice views and close to lots of attractions!

Either way, he’ll be seeing gigantic trees, but when someone says “redwoods” they’re almost always referring to the national parks in Northern California.

That's a long way away from Pasadena! Not sure what time your flight arrives or you depart, but it could take over 2 hours to make that drive. You will need to allow a lot of time when you go to leave.

Sequoia is probably the closest park with the big trees.

Is there much to do in Pasadena or is it just somewhere to go on game day?

We fly in on Weds for the Braves/Dodgers game and are either staying in Santa Monica or the Beverly Hills area for a day or two. Still trying to decide on a hotel.

Then have an Airbnb a few blocks from the Rose Bowl from Fri-Sun. But from what I can tell on google maps, "Old Pasadena" (Colorado Blvd) looks like it'd be a good area for gameday. A strip full of restaurants, bars, pubs, etc.

Lots of restaurants and bars in old town, along with shopping.

It’s not as lively as Santa Monica or Hollywood/West Hollywood, but there’s more to do in Pasadena then most other parts of the metro area.

The problem with LA is everything is so spread out, no matter where you stay, you’ll need to venture out of the area to see different things.
