Need hotel recs and food options in decent proximity to the ballpark. Will be 2 adults and a couple of 10 year olds. Tia

Well even staying downtown is only a 20 minute Uber/Lyft to the game.

For food, Social Table is a good place for food and beer

There are hotels that provide shuttles to the game near the interstate...nothin noteworthy food wise in the area....mostly your standard chain restaurants in the area. You can bring in food and drinks into the park if you want. Use soft cooler, plastic bottles for drinks...
We sometimes bring in Jimmy John sandwiches and just buy drinks at the game.

Don’t go to a Day game this time of year. It’s too damn hot.

It’s at 7pm. Think that will be miserable or will there be shade at that time?

Find a hotel in the area. Six Flags is next door and Hurricane Harbor is across the highway, so plenty to keep the kiddos entertained.

There's a Great Wolf Lodge in Grapevine with an indoor waterpark. You'll have to drive/Uber to the ballpark.

It's going to be hot even after the sun goes down. Make sure your tix are along the 1st base side so you're in the shade the whole game.

The courtyard Marriott in walkable distance to the ballpark is the way to go. It has been a staple for our trips there over the years. Never have to worry about traffic, or parking. Woke up next day a week ago when we went and went for a morning run around the ball park and Cowboy stadium! Pretty easy and sweet setup!

Plus you are between both Dallas and Fort Worth so centralized location to head in either direction to do whatever you want.

We stayed on the Fort Worth side of doing things and went check out the Stockyards and downtown Fort Worth Sundance Square, then stumbled upon TCU. The football stadium was open so was cool for my 10 year old boy to check out. Clean nice campus! We ate lunch near by at Woodshed Smokehouse on the river...it was nice and chill environment.

Take your family to eat inside the stadium at the Jack Daniels place, food is ok, but you get a great view of the game as long as you paid for the buffet. I buy the cheap seats and now do that to watch the games.

If possible, grab seats in the home run porch on rows 8 or higher. These seats are covered by the AYCE upper deck section. Wife and I went about 3 weeks ago and although it was hot, being shaded made a huge difference. Have a great time!

Just in case it pops up on your hotel searches... don't stay at the Econolodge just across the highway. We've stayed there several times for LSU games at Jerryworld and it worked because it was cheap and walking distance to the stadium, but it hasn't been updated since the 80's. Complete dump.
