Since the travel board was no help with this, I’m hoping some from the OT have been to Miami or Fort Lauderdale and can give some tips on best places to stay and what to do/where to eat etc. we are in our mid 30s and not necessarily looking at the party south beach scene. Have been looking at either Hollywood or mid/north beach Miami. TIA.

You're traveling during these uncertain times?!

You're literally going to kill people, science denier.

We were supposed to go to Mexico but the new testing requirements have us staying domestic.

Now we are flying into FLL, and Looking for a place with a nice pool, access to the beach a little more upscale than a motel room, but not quite as luxury as fountainbleau or 1 Miami.

Where are the “must eats” in the area?

As do I.

Hollywood Beach is great. It has a boardwalk (read Broadwalk) with a bunch of restaurants and bars on it. Beaches are gorgeous. Downtown Hollywood is super close and is full of food/drinks

Grab a few drinks at the Elbo Room and then hit the beach right across the street.

Sure why not. That’s the South end of Central Beach. Most everything is still walkable. Fort Lauderdale Beach Park is kind of a human litter box, but just ignore the homeless sleeping on the playground and you’ll be fine.

Ft. Lauderdale. Stay at the beach. Marriott Harbor Beach if you want resort, good beach location, people but not overrun. Secluded, at south end of beach. If you want peace and quiet but walking distance to bars, restaurants and nightlife, Lauderdale by the Sea at one the small hotels like Beachside Village Resort. That’s at the far north end of the beach. The main chunk of Lauderdale beach hotels are on A1A across from the ocean between Las Olas Blvd on the south and Sunrise Blvd on the north. There are inumerable upscale, modern, international chain properties on that central stretch of the beach.
