Lots of not so great suggestions. Just google search any other td thread on this topic. It usually goes better than this.

Yep. You, buddy, raining all weekend, hotel room. Have fun & be safe!

I was too lazy last night to provide a real response.
If you are in college, 6th Street may be fun, but most of the bars are pretty much the same. There will be lots of people there, but it's mostly tourists and trash.
Like other's have said, Rainey Street is really good and the bars are much more interesting (they are mostly old houses converted to bars).
6th Street east of I35 is also good. Lots of interesting bars there.
Hit up the Greenbelt this weekend and go swimming. The water should be awesome with all the rain we've had. The twin falls entrance is popular, and it's on the service road northwest of the intersection of Mopac (hwy 1) and 360. Bull creek is also really nice for swimming, and yuou don't have to hike very far.
Go to the Draught House pub - it's a little off the beaten path but it's an old standby for Austin regulars. It's an Irish pub in a neighborhood that has a ton of beers on tap and they brew their own.
Elephant Room (jazz bar) - Awesome place on Congress
Go to a brewery, we have a ton here in Austin. Lots of people love Jester King. Hops N Grain is also very popular, and it's downtown.
Pennyfest is on Saturday starting at 6 at Empire Garage (7th st). There are a ton of local bands playing (good ones too!) and it's $12 a person I think. LINK
Rent a boat and go out on lake travis if you have time.
Barton Springs pool (natural spring fed pool). It's 65 degrees!
Food
Eat at Torchy's and make sure to get the queso. It will change your life.
Hopdoddy - Get a burger medium rare. It's amazing. Warning, the line can be long. You can try to find a spot at the bar and skip the line.
Tacodeli - Another awesome taco place. Not open for dinner.
BBQ - Go to John Mueller or Mickelthwaite. Lamberts is not really traditional BBQ, but it is also a good option. Think "upscale bbq."

Wait, the flood disaster has "most of us" here talking and you want to know what to do in Austin?

I'n new here, but I believe this is the spot. Was very nice back in May. I would think it would be filled up again.

You'd think the way people bitching about SJWs they wouldn't be the types to go out of their way looking for something to whine about, but nope, they go out of their way to make some faux outrage over someone mentioning not wanting to have a curfew so they can stick with their normal Thirsty Thursday routine.

Keep in mind some greenbelt areas may be closed or unsafe due to high flows, particularly if the forecast for more rain continues through the weekend.

Bangers on Rainey St. I liked Freedmen's for BBQ because it seemed like one of the only joints open at night and with a bar.
