Fest Acadiens & Creole , Festival International, Crawfish, etc? Rice in crowley?
Well what fest in the Laffy metro area would be good to get a charming bed and breakfast in ? Abbeville?

Fest Acadiens & Creole , Festival International,
Both of these are great, but I would go to International over Creole if you have to pick one. It's just bigger and more to do and see.
If you want a B&B, start booking now.

I don't go to either of these.

Do they still have the smoked meat festival in Ville Platte?
I've never been but heard it used to be great.

Last time I went(1968) to Cochon de lait I saw a guy get his throat slashed. Never went back. Do they still have this? Its a beer drinking frenzy.

I'd put Festival International ahead of Acadiens & Creole but both are a pretty good time. Free entry, great music, cheap drinks, lots of good vendors(more at International).
Up until recently we lived in a townhouse near downtown in the Freetown area, if you can find an available AirBnB there you'd be able to walk to either festival if that's your thing.

Sounds fun . Do young people go here

International probably has more young people than Creole but mainly because Creole is all zydeco/cajun music, International has some of that, some interesting international stuff, and usually some decently known regional bands/acts. Gary Clark Jr. played there a few years ago, Tank & The Bangas, Marc Broussard, War & Treaty etc. There was a some Eastern European funk/dance band that put on a good show a few years back, I looked them up on social media a few weeks later and they'd just dropped a new music video that they'd shot in a bunch of the rural areas around here like Crowley/Eunice/Church Point
Creole still has a pretty good bit of young people as well and if you have any interest in music that's very specific to South Louisiana its a great festival that flies under the radar. Lost Bayou Ramblers, Cedric Watson, Geno Delafose, Wayne Toups, Horris Trahan, Steve Riley, etc etc are all worth checking out. It's also at Girard Park vs Downtown Lafayette so lots of families go to Creole, bring tents/chairs/blankets.

Thanks . I can see it's better to stay the night if one drinks from parish or bayou teche tent.

Found them, it was a band called Mydy Rabycad from the Czech Republic.

Also, check out Blue Moon Saloon if you do decide to come, they usually book some pretty good bands as well for after International/Creole wrap up for the night. We were there to see Flow Tribe and about halfway through their set Mydy Rabycad came jam with them for a bit. No idea if it was planned or not but it was a damn good time.
