well.....we also realize that it is Vegas, and we are gonna have days where we blow the diet - but not go completely crazy too. it is all good - means doubling up on the Gym when we get back :)

f you are looking for convenience and price- look at NYNY. It is in the middle of the strip

NYNY is no where near the "middle" of the strip.

I would add Aria and Venetian to that list. Wynn is definitely #1. I don't play golf, but their course is a thing to behold! Steve Wynn's attention to detail, at his properties, is on a Disney level.

This is a great list.

I’d suggest the Pallazo. It’s like a grown up version of the Venetian. A little smaller. A little quieter. A ‘different’ crowd. But, all in a nicer way.

Also, restaurant row between the Palazzo and Venetian is excellent. You literally would not need to leave the property (Tao, Lavo, Cut, Milos, etc).

the Mandalay Bay or Luxor

Mandalay Bay for sure.

A lot of people are telling you not to stay at the end of the strip, but there's one big plus to doing so recently. In the last year more than 50% of Las Vegas Taxi drivers have been laid off. If you're in the middle of the strip at someplace like the Aria, you might wait 45 minutes for a cab. At the Mandalay Bay, or preferably The Delano, there are no lines for cabs.

Counterpoint is that if you’re in the middle of the strip, you may not need a taxi.

I like Delano/mandalay if you’re looking for a more relaxing (yet still luxurious) experience and aren’t planning to casino-hop or leave the resort much.

My advice in Vegas, unless yall are training for a competition of some sort is to treat the trip as cheat week and just have fun. Its also not hard to do 20,000+ plus steps a day easy in Vegas. My last trip there was years ago and I was younger, but over 4-5 days I slept little, ate some good food and a lot of crap and late night comfort food, and drank a ton. I only gained a pound, due to being so active and walking a lot.

Just got back from vegas, stayed at ParkMGM. It is a renovated, non-smoking hotel that is quite nice. The rooms are much better than the other value hotels and the casino floor and table games are nice, plus it doesn’t smell like smoke. It is in a great location and I would absolutely recommend it, plus it is pretty cheap for a strip location. Eately downstairs has good food, and it isn’t $$$$.

Park MGM is our new favorite. We have stayed at Circus Circus many times, Luxor, Excaliber and Park MGM the last 3 times.

Also people mentioned location, but are you driving or renting a car. You can park at any of the MGM properties.
