Of all the crappy places I have to go for work, I am lucky to upgrade and go to Madrid, Seville, and Valencia in the coming months. I've been to Madrid and am good there but have no experience or connection with Seville and Valencia.

Can anyone recommend a place to stay? Since I will be in both locations for at least a week, i'd like to rent an airbnb in a decent neighborhood.

I stayed in Santa Cruz which I'm sure most people do.

If you can swing it, try this place:

Hotel Alfonso XIII, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Seville

I don't have an Airbnb suggestion unfortunately.

Yeah, I reworded that. I understand that Madrid is not Detroit, St.Louis, or Jackson, which is where I normally go. Thanks for the tip

In Seville, I would try to book a place in the Casca Antiguo neighborhood. Its in the heart of the city, and an easy walk to just about everything. Another option is the Triana neighborhood, but you would want to be close to the river in that area - it borders the Guadalquivir, and the further you get from the river, the less nice it becomes. There are air bnbs everywhere in Seville, so its easy to find a place in either neighborhood. For hotels, in Casca Antiguo try the Hotel Cervantes or the Hotel Dona Maria. In Triana, try Zenit Sevilia, or for something more like an apartment, try Suites Triana.
Have lived in Seville (in both Triana and Casco Antiguo) for 3.5 years, so feel free to contact me for any help you may need. email is pmacspain at g mail.

For Seville, check out neighborhoods like Santa Cruz or Triana, they're lively and central. In Valencia, areas like El Carmen or Ruzafa are buzzing with cool cafes and bars. Airbnb usually has good options in these areas

Careful, or you'll wind up moving here like I did.

We stayed at the Petit Palace Triena in Seville. The neighborhood was great. We could easily walk to the local mercado, the bullfighting arena, the river (with a great walkway) and too many restaurants to count.

Sir,

Please advise what your occupation is so I may forward you my resume and cover letter for future employment opportunities.

Thx,
Prospective job applicant

But seriously, what do you? My work travel includes San Antonio, Indianapolis, and occasionally Cleveland and Pittsburgh.

NYC, and to a lesser extent, London and Sao Paolo are as exotic as I’ll ever get.
