Just getting started with looking into it. Kids want to do the new Mario world. Anyone been? Best advice for booking hotel and passes. Thinking of doing over Easter break.
Thanks in advance

Worst part of Epic IMO... Its cramped and loud and the wait times are ridiculous for what you get.
The kids may enjoy it and you will grit and bear it to make them happy, but be prepared.

I was at Universal in December for work. People staying in the on resort hotel paid $300 a night. I stayed a $7 Uber ride away in a Courtyard? for $85 a night. Look around.

We just got back. We stayed at the Hard Rock which is nice and you get express passes to Universal and Isle of Adv with your room. It's worth upgrading to be on the level that has the lounge that serves snacks and breakfast. They also have a shuttle that brings you to EPIC. We spent the money for the EPIC express pass and with that, we were able to ride everything in 1 day.
Agree w/ the poster above, Nintendo was my least favorite "world". Sensory overload but still pretty cool.
We got there for rope drop and went straight to Bowsers Cart ride. We didn't use our express pass, thinking we would ride it again later w/ our express pass. That was our biggest mistake. We didn't care to ride it again and so we never used that express pass. After you ride Bowser's, get in line for Donkey Kong. Then go get in line for Harry Potter. Neither Harry Potter nor Donkey Kong open for early entry and they are your two longest waits. After you get those 3 knocked out, everything else is pretty quick w/ the Express Pass. We spent the most time in Dark Universe and Isle of Berk. The Stardust Coaster was our favorite ride, but I still think Velococoaster is better.
Our favorite rides:
Stardust
Monsters Unchained
Mine Cart
Curse of the Werewolf
Harry Potter (FWIW, I've never watched HP)

They changed that, apparently Potter is available for early entry now.

This ride is craaaazy in a good way
Also liked the Hiccups dragon coaster a lot.. it's probably my 2nd favorite coaster in Orlando after Cosmic Rewind.

Check out packages with Costco. You can get everything included.

To add to my above statement and provide some advice.
Stay at a Universal Resort, preferably one of the exclusives so you get Express Pass at Islands and Studios. You will get early park entry to Epic as part of that.
The good thing is they just added Epic as part of the park hopper option, so dont need a separate ticket to go over there.

It’ll be myself, wife, 9 & 7 year old. Is 3 days enough to do most everything? Will my 7 yo be able to ride stuff?

You should be find unless he or she is a little guy or gal. We did Epic Universe in December and absolutely loved it. Beautiful during the day and even prettier at night. We love the Monsters Unchained and Stardust the best but Harry Pottier was awesome too.

Depends on how much your 9 and 7yr old will ride... With Express, you can easily get through all of Islands and Universal in 2 days and get that down to a day an a half if you are efficient.
Without Express, Epic is going to be tough to do in a day due to the wait times, but is doable if you do the early entry and go balls to the wall. You can always spend the $300 a ticket to get express there, but imo, its not worth it.
