Honestly, those that live in cities like Austin, Chicago, Denver (+ surrounding mountain towns), and New York (all boroughs) should collaborate and post something similar to AbitaFan's Boston thread. Would save so much time and searching.

Yeah but the sun shines here all the time. Going hiking this weekend & it’s supposed to be 25 degrees. Just gotta layer up.

Sadly, that is why I quit updating the sticky. People would ask questions all the time which were already answered in detail within the sticky.

Plus, my character count is maxxed out.

Google Avanti food and beverage. It’s a pretty cool spot to grab lunch.

Yeah, but it's still pleasant feeling outside during the day. 25 and sunny in Denver feels like 45 in Baton Rouge.

Best thing about winter hiking is much less people.

Winter is a favorite of mine because not everyone can handle the elements. The boring and weak stay home while all I do is switch my clothing and some activities.

ASKING for a friend...

They would like to go for a weekend to chill somewhere in Colorado (in Feb). No skiing but like snow .

Where would you suggest looking for cabin rentals or house.
Away from neighbors some. They are willing to drive from Dallas, but if there was an airport close by would be better and then they would rent a Jeep or??

They want about 3 nights, budget around $275/night

Have a friend w a huge house in Pagosa Springs, but they thought it was too big (3100 sq ft).

I can do the specific research. Any ideas on the towns/ area ? They just want to chill, relax, have dinner, etc nothing very active.

Salida/Buena Vista/Leadville, Ouray/Silverton/Durango/Pagosa are a few places to consider if they are not interested in skiing or the higher priced ski towns (Aspen, Telluride, Breckenridge, Vail, etc)

Durango is probably the biggest with the most to do, the others all have a small town vibe.

If they are not committed to CO, not planning on skiing, and driving..... the Santa Fe/Taos/Red River/Angel Fire region in northern NM is worth looking at.

I may be picking your brain a lot. I’ll know in about a week if I’m moving out your way.
