I really just want to go somewhere and hike and eat seafood. Seems like a good place for that. And hopefully not expensive

Acadia National Park is definitely worth it.
Summer time gets really crowded though.

If you like Lobster, you will like the dining around that area and Bar Harbor.

Check out airbnb and you might find some cheaper options outside of Bar Harbor.

Make sure you know when the black fly season is. It can be miserable. Early fall is probably the best time. I think it starts to improve in the summer like after June.

I enjoyed my visit to Acadia and recommend hiking up Pemetic Mountain for glorious views of the surrounding area. I camped away from the townsite for a little more privacy, at Seawall. The restaurants in BH come and go, so likely the ones I tried are no longer in business (although it’s only been 6 years).

For lobster, I enjoyed Beal’s in SW Harbor.

Enjoy your trip

Bar Harbor is a nice little town and the scenery is beautiful in the Acadia National Park. I was on top of Cadillac Mountain when my phone started blowing up with the news that Les Miles was fired.

Lobster is not cheap there by any means.

Where is lobster cheap?

If you aren't willing to pay for it, just go ham on some clams and haddock.

Acadia is beautiful, certainly worth the trip. I stayed in Bangor last time I was up that way. It was like an hour drive to the park. It's honestly worth it to save a day or two and just drive up and down the coast.

With all the lobster pounds it is the freshest you will find it and it is cheaper than anywhere else it has to be shipped to.

This is a link to a report on our trip to BH and ANP from last August. Sorry about the pictures only being links, pictures were there when posted but for some reason after a period of time they convert to links. I may not be posting them correctly.
