1. Are you telling us or asking us?
2. How long are you staying?
3. What part of SD are you staying in?

Sunset Cliffs near OB....watch the surfers, poke around in the tide pools, and, duh, watch the sun set.

Oh, and the OB pier...decent restaurant with simple food about half way down the pier. Especially scenic when the waves are high.

We always stayed right in the shallows..The water was crystal clear and if you stayed away from the sea lions you feel a little safer..

stone is the obvious choice, but their brewery in escondido is a bit of a drive north. if you want to hit some solid breweries close to la jolla (i think that is where you said you were staying), take the quick drive to mira mesa and visit ale smith, green flash, hess, and a bunch of others. plus you can see where they filmed top gun : )

Beaches

if you can find a parking spot, windansea beach is my favorite beach in la jolla. rockier and smaller than la jolla shores, but bigger than la jolla cove. we also spend a lot of time in del mar. we avoid ocean beach because it's full of tweakers and other trashballs.

- Balboa Park

if you go to balboa park, check out the north park neighborhood. it's a hipster neighborhood with lots of solid espresso bars, breweries, and cafes.

finally, if you like seafood be sure to stop at el pescador in la jolla for fresh fish or prepared meals. i remember it when it was a tiny little hole in the wall place, but it's moved across the street into a fancier building. still no parking, and long lines, but totally worth it.
