Things for kids to do in Houston

Thinking of going to Houston for a long weekend next weekend and just wondering what I could bring the kids do to keep them entertained. Astros game will be in the itinerary but not sure what else I can bring them do. Kids are 17, 9, and 11. Also any places recommended for lodging. TIA

Children's Museum
Natural Science Museum
Top Golf
Houston Dynamo game if they are in town.
Search for Houston in the thread titles on this board and there a number of recommendations for other things.

Solid list, though children’s museum might be a little young for them.

Natural science museum is a must. The zoo is really great but you would have to go first thing in the morning or they do late hours fri and sat during the summer (5-8). It's going to be HOT.

It’s been 100° this week and we’re in for more of it. Plenty of indoor things. The museum of natural science can easily occupy several hours if you see all of the attractions: imax, museum, planetarium, butterfly exhibit, etc.
NASA is awesome for kids and is also big with lots to see.

We took ours to the downtown Aquarium last week. It was nothing spectacular, but prices reasonable and we all enjoyed it. Kids are 9&7.

As mentioned, natural science museum here is top notch. Lots to see. NASA is great as well but if doing the tram tour will be outside some moving between buildings very spread out on campus. Would recommend though. The zoo is actually really nice as well and mostly shaded. I went a couple weeks ago and it wasn't too bad as far as heat goes. Lots of inside exhibits to tuck into when you need a break.

Tram tour at NASA is a must, that takes you to Mission Control and makes stops at the large warehouses that house the massive rockets.

The houston aquarium is pretty underwhelming

Downtown. Kind of a PITA location.
The art museum and natural history museum are top notch but parking can be tough on weekends. Same with the zoo, plus it’s hot.

You might not know but it’s actually a restaurant that is part of Tillman Fertitta’s empire. The fish tank is a novelty to draw in people to eat overpriced average food.

Yea it's a private restaurant called Aquarium with some fish and stuff lol. We don't try to sell that as a legit aquarium.
