These Las Vegas Casinos and Resorts Will Be Open 24 Hours Again Starting in March
quote:

Beginning March 3, MGM Resorts in Las Vegas — including the Mandalay Bay, Park MGM and The Mirage resorts — will resume 24/7 hotel operations.

After offering limited opening hours due to COVID-19, some Las Vegas resorts will soon return to 24/-hour operations while increasing capacity limits.

Beginning March 3, MGM Resorts in Las Vegas — including the Mandalay Bay, Park MGM and The Mirage resorts — will resume 24/7 hotel operations. Initially, each property closed for a few days in the middle of the week, due to decreased business. Park MGM, for example, closed every week from noon on Monday until noon on Thursday.

March is right around the corner. Anyone surprised by this?

I know some doom and gloom people that were saying 24/7 Vegas was not coming back and going to be a thing of the past.

I’m really surprised by this. Mirage is my go-to, but ended up staying other places due to their M-Th restrictions they had in place.

I did stay there Friday/Saturday a few weeks back and it was a ghostown. Wonder how they are justifying this

I’m all for it, I’ll take my $40/night rate and go a Mon-Wed when nobody is there

Strip is a shite show right now with cheap rooms on weekends. Like the wild west.

Glad they are getting back to somewhat normal. This town is getting hammared between the hotels and no conventions.

Do you ever foresee the pre Covid Vegas going back to 100% or do you think it will drastically change and some places will not be like they were pre Covid?

I dont know, I doubt it gets back to pre covid days anytime soon. I read MGM revenue was down 54% last month alone.

Went to strip in October for dinner. It really was a hot mess, first time in 16 years I've been here where it felt unsafe in parts. Those cheap rooms brought out some winners. Casinos have to do it though so I can't blame them.

I'm thankful I'm not in that industry anymore. Got many friends hurting bigtime.

Henderson and other suburbs keep growing. Do you see that coming to a standstill or do you see continued growth?

It's odd. Area I'm in (Southwest) area keeps growing too. Wife and I were looking for a bigger house pre covid and decided to wait once covid hit thinking covid would lower prices, I was wrong. So we decided to sell and are moving to Idaho next month.

I mean something has to give here with house prices skyrocketing and so many people out of work here.

Wanted something new. Wanted some land and not have my neighbor 1 foot away with a small backyard full of rocks. Can get alot more house for same amount of money.

I go to Idaho alot for work and really started to like it over the past 2 years.

A lot of the day clubs were open in summer 2020 as lounges, meaning significantly reduced capacity, table service only and no general admission. From what I read, it will be more of the same.

It will probably be a while before the clubs get back to the pre-Covid days. Clubs can’t afford to pay the mega dj with the new format. Guys won’t be spending 5 figures on bottle service if they aren’t surrounded by groups of hot girls that came in GA.

This and TI. I tell people to save a few hundred and stay at these two properties. Centrally located at mid strip and still a good place to stay

I suppose eventually it will. There’s always going to be a demand for partying.... young girls will want to party and guys will spend money somewhere if there are lots of hot girls.

The rise of edm and the mega dj really helped fuel the Vegas scene, as the best clubs generally kept the riff raff out and catered to higher class clientele.

My guess is (for the time being) the Vegas nightlife scene reverts back to the older days of the rap/top 40s format with local djs. I doubt we’ll see a Calvin Harris residency anytime soon. The question then becomes will edm still be popular by the time the pandemic is fully in the rear view.

Good point. I mean, 3 years from now. Sure. 5-7 years from now, who knows at that point.
