Thinking about a 3-4 night trip next summer within driving distance of Lafayette. Would Texas Hill Country be a good spot for kids ages 5, 7 & 9?
Any specific hotels/resorts, things to do, etc.?

Look at Tapatio Springs hotel. It has a pool with slide. Pretty close to sea world. It has a golf course if you are into golfing.

Loved this place. It was our go-to back when it was a Category 4. Cash rate is more than reasonable for all the things they have to do there, especially the kids.

I would recommend finding a VRBO on cypress creek in Wimberly.

VRBO in Fredericksburg within walking distance from Main St. strip. We drove from Lafayette for a long weekend a couple months ago and had a great time.

You can probably find an awesome VRBO or AirBnb in the Wimbereley area that includes a pool, game room, fire pit and awesome views for a similar price of one of the nice resorts in the area that you'll have a crammed room. From there, you can drive to one of the many river floats, go to Schlitterbahn waterpark, bounce around the cool town areas, golf, go to Canyon Lake or Lake Travis, etc. You'll have a blast and it'll be pretty affordable.

My kids enjoyed the JW Hill Country resort more than the Hyatt. They’ll enjoy the slides alone more than anything you can do in Fredericksburg….considering their ages.
Or try to find a VRBO on the Guadalupe.

In Fredricksburg go to the Cabernet Grill and get the Chicken fried ribeye. Outstanding atmosphere.
