I travel for work and our company will be getting clients in Sweden and Norway with the bulk of their operations in Stockholm and Oslo. My boss has given me first pick at which country/client I want. While I know they are neighboring countries, i'm curious who's been to both and which location you'd choose.

For what it's worth, part of my decision is based on Hilton properties (Oslo doesn't have one), ease of flights in and out, things to see and do, % of population that speaks decent english, etc.

Shouldn’t you also be considering which one offers the best business opportunity? Dunno if you are in sales, but I’d sure be looking at the potential markets in each place before I concerned myself with hotel brands.

Woah woah woah, let's not use common sense here.

I'm no help OP sorry. Sounds like a great choice to make.

Sorry, let me clarify. I'm on the implementation side so no, opportunity isn't in the mix. The product is sold and my team and I are implementing it.

Got it. Still, the size/scale/scope of the implementation is not likely to be identical in both places. See if you can’t distinguish whether one is the better career opportunity or more congenial work group, don’t just consider country. Also, cost of living....

Stockholm is a significantly larger city than Oslo. Dunno if that counts for or against in your personal worldview.

FYI.. I know someone that's in Sweden as we speak and his comment recently was "the game in Sweden is strong!". If that helps!

I've been to both and each has its pros & cons. But I would choose Stockholm for the fact it is a bigger, more vibrant city. With that said, I don't love Stockholm the way other people seem to....and Ive been there 4 times, once with a friend who is from there.

Let me clarify again. This is not a relocation situation. Without trying to delve into my work, i'm only traveling there 3-5 times for a project. Most of my work is remote so it quite literally is about the location. I don't know anything about the client so again, its literally about the difference in the 2 locations.

I've never been to Stockholm, but have spent some time in Oslo & nearby. I really enjoy Norway and hope to get back over there this year. Personally enjoyed Oslo a lot and especially working with Norwegians.

You certainly would not be disappointed in Norway either.
