Southwest Promotion

Southwest has a promotion if you book a flight by 8/30 and fly by 9/30 you get a companion pass for 1/8/24 thru 3/8/24. I registered and bought a flight. Is there a catch I am missing?

Already have flights booked to Steamboat for Mardi Gras so I'm thinking I can rebook.

I did this promo when they had it back in April. after you complete your flight in sept, they will email you pretty much right away saying you qualify for the companion pass. however you won't be able to add your companion to your jan-mar travel until 1/8. you can go ahead and book your flight whenever and just add your companion later.
