What’s your opinion?
Looking to book a 4 or 5 night cruise in lieu of annual beach vacation. Haven’t cruised on 20 years..
Family of 4….mom/dad/15M/21F
I think the ship is wonder of the seas…
Clientele?
Service?
Atmosphere?
Food?
TIA!

If I am going to sail a Western Caribbean itinerary, it's out of Galveston. I'll use Florida for Eastern and Southern. Wonder is a great ship.
If you're driving you can stay at the Holiday Inn Resort on the beach and leave your car there for the week. They have a shuttle that will bring you back and forth to the port. Good area with plenty of things to do, pleace to eat the night before you sail.

The shorter the itinerary, the more likely you’re going to be on more of a party cruise than a family cruise even on RCCL.
It’s going to be a bunch of young people partying and kids running amok while they’re parents are gambling or drunk by the pool.
I recommend spending the extra money to do a seven night cruise. It really does cut down on the riff raff.

Our son surprised us with one a few years ago after he graduated from college. He said it was a thank you for everything. We did not have any issues whatsoever. However, we went in mid-August when most kids are back in school.

If you get the drink package, Texas has laws that won't allow it to be active on the first day of your sailing. You won't have to pay for it that day, but you will be paying for drinks out of pockets, Just a little quirk to be aware of. ETA: Royal apparently doesn't do that, see below.
You'll have a good time.

Thats not true on Royal. You just can only use it on beer and spirits purchased from a texas distributor so while available, it is a limited menu.
Strange Texas law could limit your drinks on the first day of your cruise

Ah, could have sworn Royal followed the same policy as Carnival. Thanks for the clarification.
