Looking at summer vacations and rental cars are out of this world high. Looks like it's due to some of the rental agencies selling off cars to make ends meet during the pandemic.

check out turo
That's who I'm using in Denver this week. 100 bucks cheaper for an awd suv than the cheapest compact car with all the rental companies

Check out the Costco travel rates. I have corporate rates with National and Enterprise through my work. We rented a car in Denver last weekend and the Costco rates were much cheaper than our corporate rates. Got a car through Enterprise for about $200 less than when I was looking to book with my corporate rate.

call.
dont book online.
They will give you way better rates over the phone.
Dealt with Enterprise in Feb and was $150 cheaper than anything i was looking at online or any of the cheap sites as well...

Yeah, I got a 4x4 4Runner in Denver last month for the same price as a compact Kia from the rental companies.

Hey. Go to costcotravel. I let my Costco lapse because I never really shop there.
I needed a rental. It was $200 cheaper through Costco for a better brand (enterprise) I got a full sized car for 35 a day through Costco with only a 10 day advance booking.
Totally worth the 60 I paid for membership.
Then turned around and booked a Disney trip through Costco on $4200 for the week with the family suite and 5 day hopper tickets for four adults.
You don't have to be a member to check prices. Do for sure you should at least check.

Same advice I said but I've never used Touro and the 4runner for price of Kia sounds great.
. My thing is I dog out my rental cars.
I took my Camry on mountain dirt roads and I don't think I could dog out a car that someone uses as their money maker.
I'm pretty sure I had the only 2 wheel drive car in Gold Hill at the time

This thread made me go look at prices again for when we will be flying into Kalispell in July. Absolutely nothing available. Glad I already booked.
