Real ID extended to Oct 1, 2021

It's been so long since I've flown I forgot about having to get a Real ID driver's license. Just noticed you can fly without it until October 1st.

If they’re extending it by a year, wouldn’t the new deadline be October 1st 2022?

Almost positive the link is close to a year old. It's still October 2021.

My Mississippi DL expired in Nov 2021. I renewed online and they sent me a Real ID in the mail without all the extra hassle. Didn't require a new photo or proving who I was with birth certificate, ect....
The wifes DL was not set to expire for several more years. She ordered a duplicate online and also received a Real ID as a replacement.
So if your in MS covid has made getting a Real ID easy peasy.
