Any of you world travelers hit the Hard Rock in Punta Cana? I've got a family of 5, so we need a family suite and they've got them. I'm about to pull the trigger, anyone with any experience?

Was in Punta Cana last year. Hard Rock is one of the nicest resorts on the island. Casino is bigger than most also.

Get a room close to the beach as possible. It’s where all the good restaurants and good pools are.

I’ll be there for a wedding at the end of May, so I’m also interested to hear some experiences.

Had my wedding there a couple years ago and had a great time. Most of our guests went with the Caribbean sand suites since those are closer to the beach and majority of the restaurants but you aren’t close to the lobby which has the other restaurants and the casino.
If you just got a regular Caribbean suite it’s still isn’t really that far of a walk to the beach and pools.
I have eaten at every restaurant on the grounds and I have to say I enjoyed all of them except for Italian place ciao. The Brazilian steakhouse was my favorite of all followed by the sushi/hibachi place in the lobby.
The family suite you are looking at I believe are only in the front by the lobby but they have a pretty reliable trolly system that you can hop on to get to the pools and beach. Resort is huge but it’s on big piece of property you wouldn’t even notice how many guests they actually have. Our wedding was 1 of 13 for that weekend when we were there.
I studied that place when we were planning our wedding and knew that place backwards and forwards. Was an awesome time and our guests had a blast too.

If you have 5 you may want to look into 2 separate rooms then the family suite if you can. I think 2 separate rooms may be even cheaper than the family suite. The suite has a living area unlike other rooms so it costs more.

Wife and I went on a few years ago & really enjoyed it. It was our first all inclusive. The place is HUGE. Beaches are excellent & water crystal clear. Pools all over the place & the nightlife is great. We’ve been wanting to go back with kids because there’s so much to do. I’m sure you’ll hear others shite talk it because they went to another DR resort but we had a blast.

went February 2016 for a week and had a great time. Food was mostly meh, IMO. Hibachi place was easily the best. Service was excellent - staff was all super friendly. There is a ton to do on the resort. The golf course is pretty nice. We did one excursion, a snorkeling trip to Catalina island that we also really enjoyed.

Thanks for the replies.

We booked a family suite because they couldn't guarantee adjoining or close rooms.

Heading there tomorrow until Tuesday afternoon for a wedding. Will be quite a few people in their late 20s. Anything we should note or do around the resort? What was your favorite restaurant? We have resort credits, but is an excursion worth it?
