Passport Renewal Question

Didn't realize I need 3 months of validity remaining on my passport to travel to Greece. We go the first week of October and my passport expires middle of January. How likely is it I can get this renewed in time? Am I screwed if not?

go with the additional $60 and get it expedited in 5 weeks. Or you can call the 1800 number and schedule an appointment in NOLa at the passport center.

Yes, they won’t let you board the plane, and if they mistakenly do, you will be turned away from entering Greece once you arrive.

Pay for expedited service. I would also email your congressman, but do that after you send everything.

Go to Athens, Georgia instead.

Can get an emergency appointment at a passport office with proof of travel within 14 days.

So If my passport expires Jan 16 and my dates of travel end Oct 12 I should be fine correct? It’s 94 days from the end of trip to passport expiration. Just in case

Crossing borders is one of the penultimate cases where it "should be fine" is not allowed. Do not F with immigration officials. Just renew, and take the L. You do not want to be stuck trying to board a plane in a foreign country to get back home and have to involve the US Embassy. They are not your friends.
