Wife and I are going to be in New Orleans for Memorial Day weekend/week.

Primary purpose for the trip is the concert at the Superdome on Sunday night and then being tourists the rest of the time (WW2 museum, Preservation hall, etc.).

Trying to decide the best place to stay. Was initially thinking Hyatt by the Superdome since the concert will be getting out late and it would be quick/easy to get back to the hotel after. After talking about it, we are now thinking something closer to the Quarter since that is where we will be spending most of our time; she is really interested in the W.

What would the board's choice be between these two? Is there a better choice?

Bayou Country Superfest weekend
I'm guessing the hotels will be a bit pricey.

Hyatt would obviously be the closest to the concert.
W would be my choice between the two or closer to quarter.

Hilton at 333 st Charles would be a good midway point.

I've walked from the Quarter to Superdome many times for concerts and sporting events before and after, it's not a bad walk.

Are you familiar with blink booking? This far out, there's a lot in the $100-$180 range that are 4-star and above in the area you're looking. Royal Sonesta, Hyatt Superdome, Hilton Riverside, etc.

Have you been to the Roosevelt? That’s our favorite.

W

Most of your other intended locations are closer to it than the Hyatt. Better food locations are closer to W also. You'll also have better views at night when fricking with the curtains open (maybe it's just me).

That was my biggest concern as well if we stayed down in the quarter. Wasn't sure if the streetcars will be running that late when the concert is over, and Uber will be a cluster afterwards.

But location for the rest of the trip (plus the views) makes the W seem like the better choice.
