Nashville Medical Stay

Any suggestions? My daughter in law is having surgery next week at Vanderbilt. My son, his in-laws and my granddaughter will be traveling with her. Looking at AirBnBs, but I haven’t been to Nashville in decades. Safety is the main concern, they don’t care about proximity to tourist attractions. Thanks!

check hotels near the hospital, likely have medical rates especially if you will be going back and forth from hospital

Good call, this is pretty common at hotels around MD Anderson.

A lot of hotels that are easy walk to Vandy.

Unfortunately Vanderbilt MC is at Vanderbilt which is less than 2 miles from downtown and everything the opposite way to the west is ritzy generally speaking. Nashville can have terrible traffic during rush hour times but outside of that its not a huge city, I would just rent a house somewhere and plan to commute in personally.
Hotels in that area are generally pricey and a home with some more space maybe nice.
But it just depends on how many days you are going to be there. If just for 2-3 nights as I said, I would not suggest it, but over Thanksgiving I walked from downtown on Broadway to Vanderbilt, it was around 2 miles just for fun to see the city as its been a couple of years. So its very doable anywhere you stay around there to be close to the hospital, university, and downtown.

I stayed at the Home 2 suites ( I like that iteration of Hilton as the rooms are bigger with full fridges and amenities like couches) there by Vandy off División Street.
Plenty of eating places closeby to walk to.
I would stay there again as its a little zip to the medical center where yall will be
