Napa Trip in August

Heading to Napa in August for a work event for a couple days. Wife and I have never been. We were thinking of fling in to San Fran, staying the night in San Fransisco, then in the morning, see a few touristy things before driving in to Napa. Itinerary i was thinking:
Day 1 - Fly into SFO. Arrive between 3 and 5 pm. Stay the night.
Day 2 - See the painted ladies, drive down lombard street, if time, go down to the fisherman's wharf, then drive over the Golden Gate and head to Napa, maybe stopping in Santa Rosa along the way to hit up Russian River Brewing. End in Napa and have dinner at Bouchon.
Day 3 - Wake up, maybe hot air balloons. Hit a winery. Work Dinner.
Day 4/5 - Work event, winery visits
Day 6 - Visit a couple wineries. Dinner at Auberge du Soleil.
Day 7 - Fly out of Sacramento
Any other suggestions? Any specific restaurants/wineries or other things i should do while in Napa? Any suggestions for our San Fran portion? I'm concerned about the homelessness and literal shite on the street in SF. My sister in law and neighbors have been recently and told me it's pretty bad. I'd like to stay in a hotel away from the vagrants.

Not sure how “on the way” Santa Rosa is to Napa. Auberge is great with beautiful views of the valley.

Are you more of a nature fan? I went to Muir Woods on my way to Napa area last June and went on a nice hike through the redwoods out there. Ended up at Muir beach for a bit and had a great time. I spent maybe a few hrs in SFO doing lombard street, driving around after I flew in and that was enough. So maybe night 1 you do SFO then day 2 head to muir woods area for the day? Just a thought

I am, and my wife mentioned she wanted to see the big redwoods, but i didn't know where that was exactly.

Personally, i like this better. Don't really care about SF, outside of wanting to see Golden Gate.

It's about a 30-45 minute detour i think. You'd be entering napa from up north through Calistoga, i believe.

Wife and I had our 25th anniversary dinner there. Worst fine dining experience of my life. The food was great, the venue was beautiful, the service was OK. There was a table of very drunk, very obnoxious thirty somethings that ruined it for us. The staff not really doing anything about it was the real problem. They kept yelling "frick" and "BITCOIN BRO" and shite like "I'M GETTIN THE LAMBORGHINI". After an hour of this, staff came over and said they had 7 separate complaints on that table. So then it was more of the same with one woman constantly going "SHHHHHH!!!" We were 2 courses in and the service slipped with 30 minutes between courses and my wife's and mine were totally out of sync. At that point we were done. I went to speak to the manager, asked her to charge us for what we had so far as we wanted to leave. My wife was very upset and the manger offered to have us back, told us to not worry about the bill and that she was very sorry. I had a $100 bill in my pocket and left it for the staff. Adios, Auberge!
