Wife and i are going to Sandestin this year for our anniversary at the end of next week and staying at Hotel Effie. Already have some food reservations but give me some good spots to check out!

My two favorite places near your hotel are Tuscany for Italian and Bijoux for French.

Ill be at the West Winds tower in a few weeks. Heard the crab islands stuff was cool. I also booked a Solaris yacht dinner. But I too am very curious

I've spent some time at that hotel, my wife's company had some off-sites there. It's a great spot to space out for a week and work half-days from your laptop. I prefer to go east from that spot, as the westerly areas are a bit high-risey built-up and not as beachey.
There is a little shopping mall and restaurant district walkable if you need to pick up some shirts/bathing suits or grab a bite. Nothing special but useful. Also a Publix for some supplies.
I love the public beach at the state park across 98. It's usually pretty quiet and remote compared to the abject zoo that functions around it. Enjoy some sunsets there.
Otherwise:
Shunk Gulley Oyster Bar - great seasonal hash dishes
Goatfeathers - great grouper sandwich
Seagrove Village Market - same
Redbar - fun spot, bar food
Georges' at Alys Beach - what Husk is to Charleston, kinda played out, but have to check in there if your idiot neighbors judge your instagram
Perfect Pig - solid lunch spot
Olf Florida Fish House
I also like to fish or crab off the pier under the 331 bridge. There are grills, I've literally boiled and ate my crabs on the spot.

Don’t sleep on Tommy Bahama. Thought it would be gimmicky and it was yummy. In the little walkable area outside the gates. Drive your cart to it
