Outside of major holidays, you can park in long term or short term. If they are full (rare) you can park in economy and take the bus. That adds 15 minutes to your trip as it is at the old terminal.
You can also prepay for parking and guarantee your spot.

But, it can also save you time at the main terminal if you check your bags at the economy garage. I have never seen a line there to check bags, EVER.

This is a fair point, I rarely check bags
