Lowest realistic price for Europe this fall/ winter? Atl deal now for Nov for $544 FYI
Posted by baldona on 5/24/22 at 7:44 pm03
I’m being a cheap arse because I need 5 tickets. $544 Atl to Paris through ORD and DFW on American right now in Nov. Probably a 9/10 good deal? The flight times aren’t great for what I need so I haven’t booked it and it’s awhile away and I don’t want lock in right now.
But I’m probably smoking dope for anything cheaper right? Part of me thinks the off peak times are going to be desperate to put butts in seats with the economy sputtering? So peak flights continue to be very expensive and off peak great deals?
ETA: Flights are gone now. They were there as of about 4pm 5/24

I personally would not fly anywhere on AA with two layovers for $550. I would have 0 confidence my flights would go according to plan.
But $550 to Paris from the states is a good price considering the going rates currently.
Anywhere in Europe you looking or just Paris?

We are going to Paris for Thanksgiving week +7 days or so. I'd consider other options like Amsterdam as our trip isn't set in stone.
I was seeing one stop through ORD direct to Paris and one stop through DFW, as well as one stop through Miami. Like I said times are not great for the better deals so I'm being patient.

Should've booked those flights, seems like a great deal nowadays. Also a high probability that a few schedule changes will happen between now and then. If that happens, you can generally switch to whatever flights you want for free. If you see it again I'd book it

Glad you chimed in, I have like 15 google flight trackers set.
My opinion though is that people are traveling this summer because they haven't been to Europe in years. I think once that goes away, the economy may kill the europe travel this winter/ fall and airlines will be somewhat desperate to fill flights. Many of those flights have to fly daily one way or another.

You think people are going to stop traveling to Europe after this summer?

Based on my last few trips, this will 100% happen. Sometimes several times.

Stop completely? Of course not. Additionally I fully understand that a large portion of Cross Atlantic travel is the top 20% of income earners and they are less effected by inflation.
But yes, I think people were itching badly to go this summer to places they didn't go for 2-3 years because of Covid. Flights skyrocketed.
I think that once that itch has been scratched, a lot of people are going be watching their budgets for a bit.
