Glad to hear you're having fun, sounds like you have a pretty scheduled itinerary, but I always like to send people to Aux Trois Mailletz for the authentic cabaret vs the fake Moulin Rouge type if you're into food/drinks/ and a more intimate show. Call ahead for a reservation. Jazz is played on the ground floor, but they do the show in the basement which is pretty cool.

Barrafina was great - we enjoyed each dish and the atmosphere was great, at least at the location we went to on Daniel St...I believe.

Ah yeah his creperie/bars a hors-d oeuvres joint is crazy good. Delicious stuff. Chef Yves is amazing. Think I'm gonna do de la Mer for supper tonight.

I had meals at both Relais and L’Avant in October.....sitting on the sidewalk outside Relais was a really lovely early evening in-between meal with friendly, kind service. Ordered the terrine, and received a huge, communal loaf pan. You carved out however much you could stand to eat. Just great. Not fussy in the least.

We then made a quick walk to Harrod's where we grabbed lunch and did some shopping. As far as malls go - this is by far the nicest one I've been to. A lot of incredible specialty brands and it seems to go on and on. The money being dropped here must be insane.

Did you happen to see any Muslims at Harrod's? I went there in September & could not believe how many were in there shopping. It was probably 50-70% of the customers. What exactly can women in headscarves & oversize clothing buy in there that they can wear in public? It is a mystery to me.

They’re wearing high end stuff beneath their loose, modest outer layers. Most true couture clothing is sold to rich Arab women.

Day 7:
Will have back-to-back postings...in case anyone cares anymore. lol
Woke up to some rain on Wednesday, which was nice, as it allowed us to sleep in a little and get a relaxed start to the day.
Once the rain cleared out - it was a pretty nice day. We started by heading over the the Arc de Triomphe. Crowds weren't that bad and you have a great view down the Champs-Elysees, which we then meandered down.
I follow the Tour de France every year, so it was great to see the same roads where the race culminates each year.
From there, we strolled down the Seine for a little while, walked through Tuileries Garden,, and went over the the Joan of Arc statue where the riders come out from the tunnel and head towards the Champs-Elysees.
This took most of the day, so we headed back towards our apartment by the Eiffel Tower - on the way we grabbed a snack, sat in the park overlooking the Tower for a little while, then got ready for dinner.
I wanted pizza - I know...weird, but I like pizza. We went to Casa Pizza. It was very good and the owner/server could not have been better. Offered us a sample of his pizza, which was great -- I wound-up getting a Margherita -- and then gave us some homemade plum moonshine after our Tiramisu.
After that, we had a couple of drinks at Gatsby - again, great staff...good drinks...and I perfect way to close out the night.

never been to paris, this place looks like it gets a good nighttime crowd for drinking on the water. converted riverboat to make a louisiana person feel right at home
(i just looked from google maps, seems like a lot of the places in the area have a similar look = old building with fine dining/white tablecloth insides.)
