Me and my wife a going on a 12 day road trip in late October/early November. We will be traveling from south Mississippi to Congaree, New River Gorge, Shenandoah, Flight 93 Memorial, Cuyahoga Valley, Indiana Dunes, and Mammoth Cave National Parks, then back to south Mississippi. Any suggestions for side trips along the way? Thanks

Mammoth Cave isn't too far from Bowling Green and the National Corvette Museum.

Luray Caverns is basically right next door to Shenandoah. Leaving Shenandoah and going to Flight 93 you could potentially take a route that would put you near Harper's Ferry and/or Antietam.

If you like history both are worth visitng. Especially Harper's Ferry, really beautiful near there.

When circling back south into Kentucky, plan a stop in Elizabethtown (E-town) Kentucky. About 35 minutes south of Louisville on 65. Beautiful town square. Lots of restaurants on the square but we really like Impellizeri’s Pizza. Great stop!

Enjoy your trip and let us know if our recs worked out.
