If you are staying in South Lake, there are a few places within walking distance of each other to catch a drink around the lift area. We took a day off and ventured off to a guided snow mobile tour. Experience was cool and the place suited ya up with rental gear. Top notch experience in my opinion, riding the trails and being able to open up the throttle was fun.

If it snows go to Kirkwood if you have a car that can handle the conditions. They do enforce chain laws or snow tires in that area but it is worth the 45 min drive if you are staying in South Lake

If it's South Lake...hit Sierra at Tahoe. It's the locals favorite for a reason.

If it's north side...Mt Rose has the best snow.

Flying in for nye-4th... solid info. I'm likely to miss the lsu game, but i should be in south tahoe by noon (local) for the bama game. Any place y'all would recommend for viewing that? I'm maybe 5 minutes west or the casinos.
