Planning a trip to Lake Tahoe for my girlfriend and me in June 2026. Any must-dos? Good spots to stay, eat, hike, or swim?

The Landing hotel. On the south shore. Right on the state line. Walkable to Heavenly resort and downtown.

Hike Upper Eagle Falls to Eagle Lake. Easy enough hike with an amazing lake. We brought some lunchables and chips and had a little picnic. Was likely one of our favorite parts of Lake Tahoe.

My wife and I stayed at the Edgewood Tahoe in September and it was amazing. Beautiful property right on the lake. Highly recommend.

Was even beautiful at dawn in November with 20° weather and no snow on the ground.

Get up early to get a parking spot for Chimney Beach and Secret Cove Beach. The Vikingsholm hike is fun down to the old viking home on the shore. Eagles Falls is a popular one thats also nice and not to hard.

Lakeview Commons is a solid free concert spot right on the lake with great food vendors (best empanadas ive ever had).

Heavenly Village has a ton of restaurants and shops.

We stayed at The Moose Maple and Lodge. Its a cheap hotel but it did the trick as we only used the room for sleeping. There was a bar and grill within walking distance called Beckett Tavern that had a cool outdoor area with live music, we went there pretty much every night.

Also lots of breweries around along with dispensaries.

I fricking LOVED Lake Tahoe. I've been to plenty of more expensive and far away places since, but Lake Tahoe still remains my favorite vacation ever. It was the first vacation i took that really showed me how beautiful nature can be. I'd never seen anything like it. It was also the first one that didnt revolve around drinking and partying. Still need to get back there soon.

I'm considering a trip in this time frame also.

Is early June too early to enjoy the scenery and hiking at higher elevations?
