With all of the flight drawdowns over the past few months, finally some interesting news today. Jetblue is adding 30 new routes over the next few months, mostly NE to Florida but also some cross country flights. I will definitely be taking that SEA-FLL flight a few times. Curious if you guys have thoughts on some of these routes.

Jetblue's strength is unfortunately not the middle part of the country. I also don't see them opening up new stations like STL in the current market as that'd be a lot of additional operating costs for likely 1-3 flights a day. Much easier to just take the easy leisure markets like MCO, FLL, PBI and beef up those operations.

I'm curious about all of the EWR additions, looks like they're going after united a bit there especially with MINT to SFO and LAX. Also DTW-JFK going after delta allows detroit passengers to connect at JFK now for europe flights if delta is too expensive.

And....none of these new routes substantively help us MSY/BTR-based folks, but thanks for the news.

They are a good airline and I hope they emerge from this shiite OK.

Yeah I was hoping for something to MSY but nada. Maybe once Latoya opens the city demand will pick back up. Also we got a lot of floridians on here that this could potentially benefit

B6 just filling in gaps that WN and DL have left in the EWR market, it appears.

So what's interesting is I'm hearing these routes are all going away on Nov 1, essentially operating from July 1- Oct 31 and then poof. Testing the market?

Also good call on all of these routes being old Southwest routes (Vegas, Phoenix, Florida). With Southwest not at EWR anymore, that left the door wide open for Jetblue

Probably a bit of both. Seasonal travel, banking on pent up demand, etc.

Now that Southwest has left EWR it has given JetBlue and Spirit some opportunities. But it's amazing how much less flying is going on.

Interesting time to test a market I’d say. I’m optimistic and banking on holiday travel later this year bringing the airlines back.
