If anyone is flying today or tomorrow and needs any help please let me know, looks like I'll have a half-day today so plenty of time to help . As of current, IAH only has one runway open and is halting all arrivals until 11:30am. Rain/sleet/snow line looks like it is getting close to BTR, I'm sure there will be plenty of delays/cancellations out of Dallas, Nashville, Shreveport, Alexandria, Lafayette, and Baton Rouge. Tomorrow it looks like this storm moves to the northeast and will hit Philly, NYC, DC so be prepared for icy roads/delays.

As of 1am, all the airlines have waivers up for the weather. Do not drive in the ice unless you absolutely need to, you can reschedule flights for free as well with the waivers that are posted!

Flying to Denver tomorrow morning out of Nola. Sleeping by the airport tonight to be safe. I hope my flight doesn't get cancelled and I'm stuck at the hotel.

United? They're having major issues at IAH today so track your inbound today. It looks like they're just using the den-msy flight that got in today to avoid issues tomorrow which is good!

Leaving AEX connecting through IAH tomorrow, I think I’m going to be okay. Looks like most of the precipitation is finishing up this evening.

I think you're right but my only concern with that AEX to IAH flight would be getting your plane to AEX from IAH. What time is your flight 7:10am, 12:05pm or the 4:10pm? The 7:10am plane is already there due to cancellations today, the 12:05pm flight does Richmond-Houston-AEX before AEX-IAH so that seems reasonable, and the last flight has Grand Rapids-Houston-Gulfport-Houston-AEX so that has the potential for delays out of GPT with this snow/ice

Yes United. I noticed the plane was already at MSY, so that is comforting so far.

I’m on the 4:10 pm, hopefully it’ll clear up tomorrow.

I can change to the 12:10 for free, do you think I should do that?

Completely up to you, but normally on bad weather days like this, the advice airline agents give is to take the first flight of the day even if it has delays. I'd think the 12:10 would be a safer bet than the 4pm, gives you more wiggle room to make the connection in houston

Yeah I went ahead and changed it, I’ve been burned too many times on the last flight of the day anyways. Morning meeting was cancelled so allowed my schedule some flexibility.

Glad to hear, seems like AEX will be better off than BR/Nola in the am. As a widespread announcement, for everyone else with flights today, all the airlines have waivers up. If you start driving to the airport and realize you just can't get there due to road closures or ice, call them and reschedule (it will be free)

ETA: tancehughes get back on the 4pm, the 12pm is cancelled!

All morning flights out of MSY canceled. LINK

I'm flying IAH-MSY tomorrow afternoon on United, fingers crossed.

Wow, that is bad. At least the flights last night were able to make it in. Runways iced over apparently

Yes, but looks like temps should be above freezing after noon.

My plane is currently en route to Denver, then DFW tonight, then IAH in the morning, then MSY, then IAH. Too soon to move it I suppose. It's the 4:20pm tomorrow from IAH to MSY.

Do you think flights will be leaving New Orleans today? I had a flight from MSY to Orlando this morning but it was cancelled. Trying to re-book for tonight. It's a sales meeting so I would actually be happy not to go.

I'd have more faith in an afternoon flight tomorrow than a morning flight based on the temp forecast. Luckily the one poster in this thread on United MSY-DEN this morning hasn't had his flight cancelled yet, it's only delayed from 8:15am to 12:05pm.

Looks likes flights out of MSY to open later in the day.

Yeah, I’m back on the 4 pm. Luckily, plenty of room. I’m keeping an eye on it, if anything happens I’ll book on American to get over to LV. Delay is due to IAH, so DFW should be clear from what I see. Houston is starting to clear up a little though.

Glad there were plenty of seats...Sorry I even suggested the 12:30pm in the first place . Delta has some seats left for AEX-ATL-LAS but they're having their own issues at ATL today (looks to be getting close to back to normal operations). American also has plenty of seats through DFW (showing Y7 on both flights)
