Yes they do have seat assignments and boarding passes. I think when they claimed their bags they approached the desk. I’m thinking that’s what they’re doing is allowing the agents to book. I do see the delay and am watching for dl 1046 to arrive later. That’ll be their plane to buf. Eventually. Hopefully.

Did they gate check or have to fully check to baggage claim? I'd expect that dl1046 to make it, I bet delta is trying to get hub to hub flights all going today so they can move people around

Fully checked bags they had to grab from baggage claim. I guess since they had such a long layover initially.

Lots of folks canceling vacation plans as they got stranded, and cant make connections.

I've dealt with more today than I have ever dealt with. Folks stranded all over the country trying to make an event here, having to cancel all their reservations.

That's fair, I likely wouldve bailed if my flights got completely screwed up for this weekend. Although cancelling a trip to Alaska would be a lot tougher on me mentally

Yeah, just talking to this group going to Glacier Bay N.P. Of the 12, 4 made it here. One of those generational trips for them.

I see the flight to buffalo is delayed until 6:30pm, do you know if they are waiting on a crew? That would be my guess. I hope this doesn't cancel on them

That’s what they were told. They’re watching and no sight of a crew yet. The aircraft switched to an earlier arriving plane from Toronto. I think it’s been at the gate for 3 hours now. Hoping for the best. Would be awful to sit all day and then be forced to leave and return tomorrow night.

At least they're over in terminal E, decent amount of food options there and room to spread out if they want. Flight is 6 hrs delayed, yuck. The late night atl-buf flight already cancelled so hope they get out

Looks like Suw's family made it to BUF albeit 6 hrs late. Today marks day 3 of deltas shite show, already a lot of cancellations and delays to start the day. Looking better than yesterday but still bad

This is getting nasty on Delta. Arrival rates into Atlanta of 20 planes/hr today! Already helped let someone know their flight cancelled for this afternoon before they headed to the airport, saved them an hr drive and hours of waiting in the terminal. All other airlines looking good, but Delta is still a giant shite show. I wouldn't expect this to improve by tomorrow either

Brought my wife to the airport this morning for her Delta flight from Boston to Chicago. They delayed it by an hour before outright cancelling.

Told her she could fly to LGA and get on standby to Chicago from there and she said frick that.

The person I was helping this morning was on a 3pm PHL-ATL. The inbound leaving ATL at noon was showing on time up until about 1110am. I noticed the 3pm flight had an ETD of 513pm and then it flat out cancelled. Caught the person when they were only 5 minutes from home, told them to go home and not even try again for another flight.

Your wife had the right attitude today. No connecting flights in messes like this!

I did get my ego stroked a bit which was nice. 'You were the first person I thought of when I saw I was in for a rough day'

What bothers me about this situation is how much it shows Delta reliant upon Atlanta. They need to spread out crews and planes so that not everything touches ATL because when shite hits the fan, it really hits the fan. No reason your wife's BOS-ORD flight should've cancelled if they had crews and planes up in BOS. It is a delta hub after all

They had a plane. The plane was even loaded with cargo (thankfully she didn’t check a bag) but they didn’t have a crew.

Delta canceled my MSY-LAX flight last night. Originally scheduled to depart at 6:00 PM, I thought there was a decent chance we'd make it, since the plane had been at the gate since the day before (they'd already canceled MSY-LAX in both directions twice during this mess).

But there was no crew to fly the plane. Delta finally canceled the flight at 7:45 PM, with no opportunity to get from south Louisiana to southern California before Monday evening (by which time half of my convention would be over).

So, I just booked myself and my employee on flights from BTR tonight at $349 each. Not happy with missing the opening evening of the convention, but we'll still be there for most of the good stuff Monday and Tuesday, assuming that AA helps us navigate BTR-DFW-SAN tonight.

Hopefully DL gets the message to stop routing everything through ATL including crew...

Uh oh... There are some thunderstorms in Dallas this afternoon causing some havoc. What time is your flight?

I'm on AA 3795 from BTR-DFW departing 7:00 PM and arriving 8:35 PM, with a 2:24 connection in DFW to AA 2568 DFW-SAN, departing 10:59 PM and arriving 11:50 PM.

I would have left BTR on an earlier flight, but they were just too expensive. I'll either make this flight tonight, or I'll just skip the convention.

UPDATE: AA has already delayed my first flight until 7:30.

Can you change for free now that it's delayed to the earlier flight? If not, get there early and go standby on the 5pm

Keep the long connection in DFW. Don't switch your SAN flight unless you need to

ETA: Nvm, they cancelled the 4pm...
