My family will be embarking on the Great American road trip this week. We will be passing through Louisville and indy on Monday and Tuesday, and I would appreciate any tips on things to do, places to eat, Etc

Churchill Downs has a nice museum, and does tours of the facility - track, paddock, etc. Louisville Slugger factory tour is supposed to be nice (have not been myself).
Indianapolis is the home of the NCAA and they have a museum - Hall of Champions - down by the river. There is a ton of other stuff in the same area. As a racing fan I loved going out to Speedway and going through the museum and doing the track tour. Did you know that the Brickyard Crossing golf course has several holes on the infield of the track?

St. Elmo's in Indianapolis is a fine steakhouse

You know the last time I went to St Elmo’s it was kind of meh. Don’t get me wrong this isn’t longhorn steakhouse but I was a bit underwhelmed with the ribeye.

I can tell it is, took my then 10 year old daughter, she even enjoyed. A few months ago it was voted the #1 museum in the state.
