Planning a trip to the BNP Paribas at Indian Wells this coming March. Want to see Federer play in person before he retires. After a day at the tournament we’re going to spend a couple days in Joshua Tree. I’ve never been to the Pam Springs area before. Any advice or tips are greatly appreciated.

I planned out that trip as well. Check out Air BNBs. Much cheaper than hotels. The hotels gouge you that week.

JTNP is awesome, like on another planet awesome...I am not sure but may be cold that time of the year. You could also do the "desert and mountains in a day" by driving the 1.5 hrs trip up to Big Bear.

We are definitely going the Air BnB route. It’s Spring Break time around the country as well so flights are bumped up too.

Joshua Tree NP is beautiful. Plan some hikes ahead of time. Very quiet and pretty area. Palm Springs and area is nice. Cool tram to top of the mountain there. Nice military aircraft museum.

Are the night session tickets a good deal ?
It looks like Round of 16 men/Quarterfinals women day session is the best deal. Any advice is appreciated.

The campgrounds get very full and even if you find a spot, odds are some tweaked out climber will aggressively ask to share. Enjoy the park but consider using one of the area’s great resorts as a base. If you really want to camp, Salton Sea has a lot of available spots (but there is a weird vibe).
