I will be in Munich for a 13 HOUR LAY OVER.
I think I’m going to try Hofbräuhaus from your recommendations

It is great. There are some great beer gardens there as well that are worth checking out. Augustiner-Keller beer garden & beer hall was one of my favorites. I liked it more than Hofbrauhaus.

Munich:
My favorite Bavarian place: Gasthaus Isarthor (cash only). Couldn’t be more authentic
Fine Dining (beyond the usual star rated places all with a local touch):
- Pfistermühle (downtown). In a old middle age Watermill downtown
- Halali (Schönfeldstraße). Munich’s oldest „Deer and game meat“ restaurant. Even King Ludwig II ate there
- Rocca Riviera (very trendy French Style place at Wittelsbacherplatz)

Yes, Augustiner -Keller. Go to Hofbrauhaus but don't eat there.

Wherever you go, don’t pass on the sauerkraut.
Go to Hofbrauhaus and get one of those ridiculously large steins of bier along with a Schweinshaxe (roasted pork knuckle).
Don’t drink the same bier every time. Last time I was there (all three cities in one trip) I drank 30 different biers in 8/9 days.
