Have a lake house rented on Lake Hamilton at the end of July and looking for cool things to do in the area. Planning to rent a boat for at least a day on Lake Hamilton and then probably rent one on Lake Ouchita for a day as well. Will have two kids ages 6&10.

Thanks

If you have mountain bikes, there are some awesome trails. Can also rent bikes.

If you're into botanical gardens, Garvan Woodland Gardens is outstanding.

With kids, I'd also go to the Science Museum of Mid-America, but I'm not certain what their status is with COVID.

Thanks guys. Any recommendations for good hiking trails in the General area? Don’t mind driving a bit. Wife wants a relatively easy trail preferably with a waterfall. Thanks

Some good trails for the kids at Hot Springs National Park. We hiked that and the loop at Lake Catherine State Park that led to the waterfall.

I am going back next week for some hiking, so I will let you know what other trials I do.

I am just leaving to go home today from Hot Springs. We hiked Goat Rock Trail in the Hot Springs Park. Also, the Falls branch trail loop at Lake Catherine state park is awesome. Go early and beat the crowds. Get a map of the hot springs national park trails, they all intertwine. Goat Rock was my favorite because of a cool lookout.

Bleu Monkey Grill has good food.

It sounds cheesy, but we took our kids (7/8 at the time) to a quartz mine to dig for "treasure". It was a great time for them, better than expected for us. I think it was called sweet surrender.

We are here now and we enjoyed lake Catherine trail with waterfall and swimming hole. You can take the trail to the right and do the whole trail(about two miles) or go to the left (the trail follows along lake) and it’s about half mile right to waterfall. Garvan gardens is beautiful! If you plan to rent boats do so early. We waited to rent when we got here because it looked like chance of rain and nobody had availability.

Are there any good breweries in the area with open taprooms?

superior bath house brewery is one that is recommended.
While driving through town I saw Crystal Ridge Distillery that may be cool.

I'm on my way to Hot Springs, staying at The Waters, looked like a good location. Taking a 5 and 11 year old. Open for suggestions beyond Magic Springs.
Anyone know anything about Steinhaus Keller?

It was very good with huge portions. We loved everything we had there. I would definitely recommend
