The fiance (no pics) and I are kind of all over the place on this. Wedding is November 2nd so we'd like to get it nailed down soon.
• We don't want to sit on a beach for 10 days straight. • Looking for something with activities such as hiking, Zip lining, snorkeling, horseback riding etc.
• Unique culture and food a big plus.
• Trying to keep it under $4k
• Not opposed to going somewhere in the US.

No one wants to see pics of your soon to be husband.

That was my fiance and I's thought process when we got married last June. We decided on Napa and Carmel, and i recommend that trip to every one now.
We spent 4 days in Napa. Stayed on a family vineyard called Salvestrin (The Inn at Salvestrin). Small bed and breakfast, and they really treat you like family. Its very affordable.
Picture a complimentary bottle of wine and kicking off your shoes and walking through the vines like the vineyard is your own. Of course you enjoy all that wine country has to offer.
We then drove down to Carmel, and stayed at the Tickle Pink Inn for 2 nights. That is the most remarkable hotel ive ever been to. Nights as newlyweds with your in room fire place, wine, and your balcony overlooking the pacific ocean. We went to lunch at pebble beach, hiked some parks on the coast, etc. Tickle pink is incredible, but be warned of the price.
I suppose you could find some of the activities the two of you are looking for in the area. If not, you may be able to tweak the trip a bit to spend some time in yosemite. But that may be more in-trip travel than you are looking for.
Just wanted to share my experience. Congrats on the wedding.

Yeah what poster below said in Napa or Colorado so you can do more outdoors stuff if that is what you want.

This is going to be an issue for anywhere domestically outside of places like south florida and california, you could get a cold front and be cold. So just keep that in mind.
Under a $4k budget though with activities you could do Europe like Italy with a good flight deal fairly easily.

Wow.... I've lived my whole life not realizing this word has gender specific spellings.

Have you lived under a rock?
Pretty well known fact that fiancé is a male engaged to marry and fiancée is a female engaged to marry.
Hey but it’s pride month and all, congrats!

Okay, it doesn't tick your "activities" list, but it does offer culture, food, proximity to the US: how about Montreal? It will be cold in November, but that's not a bad thing. Go buy a nice coat, gloves, hat....you can walk all over the city & burn off the calories you eat. It's a Francophone city, so your ears will let you know you're in a different place.
I like the Napa and/or Monterey/Carmel suggestions. Or pair San Francisco w/Napa for a part city, part small town trip.

Sounds like you read a general travel website for Costa Rica or Belize. The hiking and snorkeling in one trip will limit your options.

Yeah, I'm just saying we want to do other shite besides plump our asses in the sand for a week straight. Doesn't have to be those exact activities.
We've been to Costa Rica and it was amazing. We were looking pretty hard at Belieze, but I don't know if we'll be able to do it for under $4k.

We are headed to Belize for ours. Staying at Copal Tree Lodge the first part. In a nature reserve on the Rio Grande. Should satisfy the adventure I want. Second part is on Cocoplum Island. Small island "resort" that will provide fishing, snorkeling, excursions as well. Take a look at them. Prices were very reasonable for what you get. Cocoplum was even names the #1 Small hotel for tripadivsor in 2019.

Thanks for the heads up. How long are you guys staying? Do you have an estimated total after Flights, Hotels, and Activities?

I had no idea either and I'd bet at least 50% if not 95% of men didn't know this. Learn something every day though
OP, have you considered Asia? If you can get good airfare prices, you could do 10 days there as the dollar goes a long way. I'm not positive I'd want to do it because of the long flights. But I thought I'd throw it out there.

We are going for 2 weeks and doing all inclusive in the best rooms they both offer and it is still in the 10k range. We could have gotten around 7k for the two weeks if we cut back a little. There are bargains to be found in Belize that's for sure. Our budget allowed 10k so instead of going somewhere for a week we saw we could stretch to 2 weeks in Belize and have the best they offered.

Thailand would be a great choice. It has everything.
You could have probably 8 days there for under $4000

Great suggestion, only problem is I've already visited Thailand with a buddy of mine in 2012. We want to go somewhere new to both of us.
